This concert celebrates friendship – old and new, local and long distance, and everything in between. For his debut with the HSO, David Southorn, Concertmaster of the Delaware and New Haven Symphonies, and Associate Concertmaster of the New Jersey Symphony, will perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in e minor. The concert also features Elgar’s Enigma Variations, a piece he wrote for closest friends in which he set each person to music.
