DESCRIPTION:Studio 116 is pleased to present a special exhibition of works by artist David Day from May 1–30\, 2026\, featuring an artist talk at 6:45 PM.\, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Blue Ridge Humane Society. \nBased in Flat Rock\, David is internationally recognized for his innovative use of intentional camera movement in the studio\, creating abstract images that blend motion\, emotion\, and texture. This exhibition will feature approximately 100 works produced over the past five years\, offering a rare\, expansive look at his evolving practice. \nAn opening reception will be held at Studio 116 on Friday\, May 1\, from 6–8pm\, with remarks by David and representatives from the Blue Ridge Humane Society at 6:45pm.\nDuring the reception\, David will also host a signing of his newly released book\, The Emotional Residue of Dreams\, his fourth publication exploring the art and technique of intentional camera movement photography.

From there\, enjoy a behind-the-scenes winery tour with our Winemaker\, followed by a tasting experience and the release of Midnight Moon. \nThroughout the day\, guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction for our maiden vintage 2013 Cabernet Franc. Only 12 bottles are available\, and the top 12 bids will each earn the opportunity to purchase one. \nThe event begins at 11:30 AM\, with the guided experience starting at 1:00 PM. The afternoon concludes with final bidding\, winner announcements\, and closing remarks. \n$35 per guest (includes vineyard walk\, winery tour\, and tasting)\nReservations recommended.

DESCRIPTION:Music at the Vineyard – J Stephens \nJoin us Friday\, April 10 from 1-4 PM at Burntshirt Vineyards Tasting Room & Winery for Live Music at the Vineyard with J Stephens! \nSince the release his first solo album “Stubborn Hearted Handbook” in the Fall of 2020\, J Stephens has been very busy adapting to the changes brought on by the pandemic. Fast forward quite a few years\, and J is now a full time musician\, producer and father. Somewhere in the healthy but hectic balance of performing\, producing and being a family man\, J has found the time to work on a new release\, “Suitcase Rock & Roll”. The first single\, “Not Done” is currently streaming on all platforms. This album is closer to the live feel of J’s solo gigs. The sound mostly consisting of the suitcase drum\, guitars\, harmonica and his voice. He performs often as a one-man band\, singing and playing guitar while playing a suitcase kick drum and a tambourine with his feet. He also performs with his folkrock trio\, “Howl In The Valley”. Both projects keep him pretty busy performing locally and regionally. J is currently tracking a new solo record and also writing for a new “Howl In The Valley” record. \nJ Stephens will be bringing the tunes to Burntshirt Friday\, 4/10.
