Songwriter Sessions

August 17 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Have you ever wondered where a song came from and how it came to be written? Was it a dream, or a word or an innocent phrase overheard in a grocery store? What is the story behind the story? Which came first, the lyrics or the melody? Did it take moments, months or years to write? The answers might surprise you; they may even inspire you. Come and listen to the songwriters — Hope Griffin, George Hodges, and Chris Wilhelm — sing and tell of the stories behind their songs. Songwriters, indeed all writers, love to talk about their creative process.

Hope Griffin is one of the sweethearts of Asheville’s local music scene, known for her free-spirited stage presence, velvety vocals, and heart wrenching ballads, all delivered behind her hauntingly beautiful acoustic guitar playing.

George Hodges is a singer and songwriter currently residing in Etowah. George’s songs are reflections of his experiences and thoughts on life expressed mainly through the intimacy of solo acoustic and vocal.

Chris Wilhelm is based in the beautiful mountains of Asheville and is known for bringing positive vibes and an uplifting message to his audience through his infectious and insightful Americana and folk rock compositions.
