Studio 116 is excited to announce new shows from the Sleepy Seahorse Shadow Puppet Co. premiering Friday and Saturday Dec. 4 and 5. Each night will feature two productions: the African folktale ‘The Mantis and the Moon’ and the new original story ‘Zephyr the Hare Sets Sail.’

The Sleepy Seahorse Shadow Puppet Co., founded in 2025 by Beth Beasley, is moving forward with rotating artist collaborations. This December, Mills River-based artist Tia Sculpt is collaborating with Beasley to make puppets for the new productions and will participate in staging the shows. The shows, which are appropriate for all ages, will feature live narration and sound and music effects.

A portion of the proceeds from the Dec. 4 and 5 shows will go to The Storehouse of Henderson County and Bridge of Hope in East Flat Rock to help ease hunger in our community.

Tickets are $10 per person and kids 12 are free. Seating is limited so purchasing tickets ahead of time is strongly encouraged.
