“Awakening Soul” Retreat at Kanuga

Acclaimed authors and spiritual leaders Mirabai Starr and Carmen Acevedo Butcher lead the annual “Awakening Soul” retreat, a weekend of connection, music and spiritual reflection at Kanuga in Hendersonville, NC, Thursday–Sunday, Nov. 5–8, 2026. Retreat events include a screening of the film “The Last Ecstatic Days” with a panel discussion led by Aditi Sethi of Emberlight: Center for Conscious Living and Dying, and music by the Awakening Soul Ensemble with Lindsey Blount, River Guerguerian and Chris Rosser.

Attendance cost for “Awakening Soul” is calculated during online registration at kanuga.org/awakening, and is determined by participation type: full conference or commuter (no lodging), with or without meals.
