Premiere of Color Beyond the Lines Film

Hendersonville marks the 60th anniversary of school integration with the premiere of Color Beyond the Lines, a documentary exploring the black community’s fight for education. Directed by David Weintraub, the film tells the story of Henderson County’s black schools, including the cherished 9th Avenue School, and the community’s resilience despite segregation.

The evening includes a musical performance, film screening, and a discussion with local black leaders. Tickets are available at www.saveculture.org and are expected to sell out. Advance ticket buyers receive a $5 discount on the DVD.

This event is supported by the Community Foundation of Henderson County, the Arts Council of Henderson County, and North Carolina Humanities.
