The South Asheville Turkey Trot is an annual Thanksgiving tradition that brings together local residents and visitors alike for a morning of festive fun and fitness. Nestled in the picturesque backdrop of Biltmore Park in Asheville, NC, this event combines the spirit of the holiday season with a healthy dose of community camaraderie. Participants of all ages gather to run, walk, or trot while showcasing their enthusiasm and holiday-themed costumes. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or simply looking to burn off some pre-Thanksgiving calories, the South Asheville Turkey Trot is a heartwarming way to kick off the holiday season.
The course starts and ends in Asheville’s esteemed Biltmore Park Town Square. Runners and walkers will traverse through neighborhood streets where residents and guests cheer them on along the course. There are a few moderate hills but nothing out of the ordinary for this area. Participants love the quiet streets that have little to no vehicle traffic making for a very family-friendly course. The cutoff time for all participants is 10:30am, allowing an hour and a half for everyone to finish.
