Celebrate our farewell to Mare, John, and Charlie and welcome our new hosts Annie Wenz and Todd Hoke in the natural acoustics and listening room atmosphere of the beautiful and historic Brandy Bar. Mare, Charlie, and John began the Songwriter Sessions three years ago, and the idea has grown into what is often a full house of musicians and music lovers from around the country sharing their love of original songs.

Mare Carmody is a Virginia native and has been a North Carolina songwriter for the last 13 years. She believes life is indeed a song. Or many songs. She will be relocating to Burlington, NC, in late October.

After 50 years of making music for a living, John Longbottom says, “Never let a good story get away and never let a good song go to waste.”

Charlie Wilkinson has been writing and performing since the late 60’s, from Washington, D. C., to Florida. He has been lucky to find himself in special times, special places, and with special folks, especially in his home here in Western North Carolina.
