Fletcher

Northern Henderson County

The town of Fletcher lies halfway between Hendersonville and Asheville, the Western NC’s largest city. In the early days, when the area was first settled, Fletcher became a strategic stopping place on the busiest thoroughfare through the region, the Buncombe Turnpike. Fletcher was once best known for its limestone quarry, which is still in existence, and while Fletcher is still home to many businesses, these days is more known for attractions like the Feed & Seed, the county’s first whiskey distillery, Two Trees, its beautiful parks, and its proximity to the Asheville Airport, which borders Fletcher on the other side of the county line.
