Recollection will reflect on the artistic legacy of Marty Whaley Adams who finds inspiration in the beauty of the natural world, notably shown in her remarkable still lifes that feature beautifully textured objects painted in rich, nuanced colors. A longtime monotype printmaker, Marty enjoys the spontaneous process of creating monotypes by painting in inks to create a one-off impression on paper. Recollection presents a number of new monotypes printed at Studio 116 mixed with prints the artist has made over the past two decades. Sales of these works will benefit Studio 116’s new Butcher Shop Press.
